Polk County Courthouse
The walking tour is designed to take you in a loop encompassing all 32 buildings of Dallas’ nationally recognzied, historic downtown. While you can technically start the tour at any building, we recommend you begin your adventure at the Polk County Courthouse. Located at 850 Main St. the Polk County Courthouse conveniently located in the heart of downtown Dallas and provides an easy-to-spot landmark if you are new to the area. Dallas has plenty of free street parking around the courthouse and throughout our downtown providing convenient access to each stop along the tour.
Preparing for the tour
Plan to set aside 2 hours to explore our historic downtown. Our tour spans seven blocks and includes 32 buildings, each with a 2-3min audio recording.
